Demerits are points against a student's record for breaking the rules.

"I was almost expelled from high school for wearing my soccer shoes to class instead of the all-black dress shoes that were required by school policy", Tom Sachs remembers. "That's when I figured out I could just colour in the white Swoosh with a marker to avoid demerits".

Test limits by breaking the rules. Accept the penalties but never forget them. Artists are champions who push up to the edge of what can be achieved through work. Wear your demerits with pride so you can live without regret.
